Crafted from carefully selected mature vines, Patronus is the result of De Toren’s continuous pursuit of perfection. Sustainably farmed vineyards and the remarkable diversity of historic soils found across the estate provide the foundation for a wine of exceptional depth, character and elegance.
Only 1,200 to 1,400 bottles of Patronus are produced each year. Every bottle is individually numbered, with the bottle number displayed on the base. This exclusive Malbec is presented in a luxurious black wooden case. A particularly distinctive feature is the integrated key system: the elegantly fitted key is used to open the screwed lid, transforming the unveiling of the wine into a memorable experience. This exceptional presentation highlights the wine’s collector status and makes Patronus an extraordinary gift for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
On the nose, Patronus 2023 opens with a rich and creamy bouquet of blueberry, plum and dark fruit. With aeration, vibrant cherry notes emerge alongside subtle hints of cedar and sweet spice.
The palate is powerful yet remarkably refined. Velvety fine-grained tannins provide structure and finesse, while flavours of blueberry, dark fruit and a touch of black pepper create complexity and depth. The finish is long and smooth, lingering with delicate vanilla spice.
Eighteen months of maturation in predominantly French oak barrels add further depth and balance. An exceptional premium Malbec defined by elegance, complexity and remarkable expression.
