Renier van Deventer
Growing up in the heart of the South African Winelands, Renier van Deventer studied Viticulture and Oenology at the Stellenbosch University, focusing on the aspects sensory and the chemical analysis of wine. Well prepared by his numerous experiences, Renier joined Leopard’s Leap as Winemaker in 2014. His thirst for knowledge, his passion for wine and his longing for adventure also led him to the Californian Napa Valley, Australia and New Zealand. In the eyes of Hein Koegelenberg, Renier has an incredibly valuable to the winery's team with his international experience and his sense of commitment.

The winery is also committed to preserving the environment and protecting the endangered leopards living in the mountains of the Cape region. Leopard's Leap supports the organisation Cape Leopard Trust and presents their work at the farm with an interactive range of information and gives an insight into the animals’ way of life. In addition, Leopard's Leap has taken over the sponsorship of several leopards in the mountains of Cederberg and Franschhoek.
