Dornier Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot 2019 - Power & Finesse from Stellenbosch
This bold and elegant Bordeaux-style blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot comes from the sun-drenched slopes of the Stellenbosch Mountain and matured for 18 months in French oak - 30% of it new barrels.
On the nose, it offers intense aromas of dark berries, plum, and hints of violet. The palate is rich and juicy with flavors of dark chocolate and ripe fruit. Balanced acidity and fine tannins lead into a long and elegant finish.
The 2019 vintage was exceptional in Stellenbosch - the decomposed granite soils and full sun exposure allowed for ripe tannins and concentrated fruit character.
A versatile food wine: Pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, game, duck, quail or richly spiced dishes with black pepper and clove.
