Product information "Muratie The Senator Cape Late Bottled Vintage 2022"
The grapes come from a historic vineyard planted in 1977, where the traditional Portuguese varieties Tinta Barocca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Francisca and Souzão grow together. On the nose, it reveals a layered bouquet of violets, roses, Christmas spices and aromatic plum pudding.
On the palate, this Cape Late Bottled Vintage is opulent, concentrated and beautifully layered. Black cherries with subtle kirsch notes meet dark chocolate, hazelnuts, truffle and tobacco. Savoury nuances, lively acidity and warming alcohol create a powerful yet harmonious tasting experience.
The five years of maturation in old French oak barrels give Muratie The Senator Cape Late Bottled Vintage exceptional depth and complexity. Only two barrels were selected for this exclusive release. With its remarkable ageing potential, this refined fortified wine is perfect as a special after-dinner treat or alongside mature cheese.
