The De Toren Edition Z 2019 is a sophisticated and well-balanced Bordeaux-style blend from South Africa. Harvested during one of the coldest vintages in Stellenbosch, this wine delivers remarkable freshness and aromatic clarity.
On the nose, you'll find juicy ripe red fruits, accompanied by creamy, mineral nuances, a subtle touch of herbal notes and delicate aniseed accents - a refined aromatic composition.
On the palate, it is linear, precise and medium-bodied, with beautifully integrated notes of red and just-ripe blackcurrants. The wine's vibrant acidity and well-judged oak aging frame the flavor beautifully.
Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (225L) in a climate-controlled cellar (16 °C at 80 % humidity). After blending, 30% of the wine underwent an additional 6 months in older French oak barrels.
