In the shadow of the Dassenberg Mountain is where the boutique winery Rickety Bridge lies. With more than 200 years of history, it combines tradition and modern age. With state-of-the-art cellar technology, wines of the highest quality and a clear recognition value are created in the old wine cellar. Besides the Rickety Bridge Range, the winery vinifies the Paulina’s Reserve Range as homage to the first owner. Donnovan Ackermann and Mari Kotze
Donnovan Ackermann is the new cellarmaster of Rickety Bridge since December 2018. During the first years of his career he gained valuable experience in France, Australia and California. Donnovan has also worked in several South African wine cellars. He can now bring all this knowledge to his work at Rickety Bridge.
Already during her first years as a winemaker Mari Kotze gained a lot of experience - first as an assistant winemaker, later as a winemaker - at various wineries in South Africa and helped with harvests in Austria and California. Marie first came to Rickety Bridge as an assistant before assuming the position of winemaker.

The Rickety Bridge winery is located in the immediate vicinity of Franschhoek, a place known for its excellent South African wines and tasty delicacies. Located between the Dassenberg Mountain and the Franschhoek River, the vineyard blends perfectly into an almost picturesque panorama. Rickety Bridge is a winery with a long tradition. The history goes back to the 17th century, when the manor was part of the La Provence farm. The farm was originally managed by Huguenot farmers and it was not until 1990 that the current Rickety Bridge winery was founded.

The noble wines are aged in the restored wine cellar. The results from the wine cellar are impressive – be it the Rickety Bridge Paulina’s Reserve Collection with excellent red and white wines, named after the first owner of the estate Paulina de Viliers or The Bridge, which stands out as a flagship wine.
