The warm and dry 2020 vintage produced intensely concentrated grapes with remarkable flavour expression. Careful canopy management and selective harvesting ensured perfect ripeness and exceptional quality.
On the nose, the wine reveals an intense bouquet of cassis, black plum and dark berries, complemented by notes of tobacco, liquorice and fresh mint.
On the palate, the Cabernet Sauvignon is dense, opulent and elegantly structured. Dark fruit flavours are layered with subtle spice, vibrant acidity and beautifully integrated tannins. Ageing for 22 months in French oak barrels adds further depth and an impressively long finish.
A distinguished Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon with power, finesse and excellent ageing potential.

The wines of Kleine Zalze are defined by a classic structure and complexity. In every bottle, the intensity of the ‘New World’ – fully fruity flavours – meets the elegance and structure of the ‘Old World’ through which noble delicacies with character, complexity and balance are created. The white wines refresh during a warm summer evening, are perfectly balanced in regards to flavour and are ideal meal companions. The red wines of Kleine Zalze offer a large spectrum from ‘easy to drink’ up to heady, full-bodied and complex bottles. When it comes to the cultivation, the winemakers pay great attention to the creation of unusual quality. Cellarmaster RJ Botha has modern equipment at his disposal but only uses it cautiously and skilfully in order to preserve the natural character of the vines.
