Product information "Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage 2023"
In the glass, it displays a deep purple-red colour. The bouquet reveals cherries, red and black plums, maraschino cherries, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it shows ripe cherries, black plums, mulberries, orange zest, liquorice, cedar, and layers of baking spices. Medium-bodied with juicy fruit, refreshing acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a long satisfying finish.
Fermentation took place in open-top concrete fermenters at 28 °C with regular punch-downs, followed by maturation for 12 months in 2nd and 3rd fill 225L French oak barrels. A well-balanced Pinotage that is approachable young yet has an ageing potential of 5–7 years.
