Sourced from a single vineyard in the Banghoek Valley, known for its rich “bottergrond” soils, the wine displays aromas of cassis, dark chocolate, vanilla, and spice. On the palate, it is dense, silky, and structured, showing layers of blackberry, red fruit, and a touch of flinty minerality. The tannins are finely grained and elegant, leading to a long, persistent finish.
Following whole-berry fermentation and gentle basket pressing, the wine was aged for 18 months in French oak (80% new). Only five barrels – each from a different cooper – were selected to craft this exceptional cuvée.
