Robertson

Robertson is a district in the Breede River Valley region. At first glance, the area seems dry and barren, but due to the cool and moist air from the coast, as well as the cleverly placed reservoirs, it has become a paradise for growing grapes. Comparatively cool nights spark flavor carriers in the grapes, and the ripening period is extended. Unique is the calcareous soil, which helps the wines to very special finesse. Predominantly the grape varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon as well as Shiraz are planted, from which for the most part "easy drinking wines" for easily accessible creations arise. In addition, Robertson stands for the sweet as well as seductive Muscadel wines. The most famous winery Graham Beck impresses with its ecological and sustainable viticulture and prepares some of the top wines in South Africa, especially variants of the Métode Cap Classique.
