Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch is the heart of South Africa and a district in the Coastal Region. It is named after the university town of the same name, which is about 60 kilometers east of Cape Town. Stellenbosch accounts for 15% of South Africa's wine production and features grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc anyway Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Leading wineries there are Delaire Graff, Ernie Els, Spier, Waterford and Tokara. Due to a varied and diverse landscape, Stellenbosch is one of the most fertile wine regions in the Cape. A mixture of a sunny warm climate and the cooling from the Atlantic Ocean also offers a perfect condition for the production of typical South African premium wine.
