Pink Valley – the heart beats for rosé

Against the majestic backdrop of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch lies the Pink Valley winery. As the name suggests, the production of a single, very high-quality rosé is at the heart of the winemaking process. The Pink Valley Rosé is best enjoyed in the estate's modern restaurant, which offers a stunning view of the Helderberg.

Petri Venter

Petri Venter graduated from Stellenbosch University with a degree in viticulture and oenology. He then gained experience in winemaking in the Cape and in Provence, France. Pink Valley is a specialist for excellent Rosé

At the Pink Valley winery, one wine takes centre stage: Rosé. The high-quality blend of Grenache Noir, Sangiovese and Shiraz is the focus of the team around the owners, the Oddo family. Pink Valley was the first winery that the French winegrowing family bought in the Cape to produce wine from South Africa. Already in their homeland in Provence, the family is a specialist for rosé wines – so it was obvious to dedicate themselves to the production of excellent rosé in Stellenbosch as well, near the Taaibosch wine estate.

Pink Valley has already convinced the critics with its wine

The grapes for the classic and elegant rosé, which mainly consists of the Grenache Noir grape variety, grow on the higher slopes of the Helderberg. They give the wine its balanced, creamy, fresh and fruity character – rosé fans will be delighted long after the last sip. The critics of the John Platter Wine Guide were already convinced by the second vintage of the Pink Valley Rosé and awarded it 4.5 out of 5 stars. The excellent rosé is not only a highlight for the palate, but also for the eye: the label features excerpts of the artwork "Walking Feathers" by Walter Battiss, one of South Africa's most important abstract painters.

Pink Valley: stunning view of the Helderberg

A print of the artwork also hangs in the Pink Valley restaurant. It blends in beautifully with the modern ambience. Earth tones, natural materials and a touch of pink create a relaxed atmosphere. Here, visitors can enjoy a glass of South African premium wine with the Pink Valley Rosé in combination with one of the delicious tapas dishes – m along with the breathtaking view of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch.
