Grenache Noir is popular for wine growers and wine lovers alike. Grenache Noir is the most planted red variety in the whole world. It is known under several names like Granaxa, Cannonau or Garnacha. The red variety is most probably original from the Spanish area of Aragon and took over from there to the rest of the wine world. Mostly vintners from Spain and France like to cultivate Grenache Noir. In Spain the variety covers about 68000 hectares and in France even 97000 hectares of wine area. The Grenache Noir is also common in Australia, Argentina, Israel, the USA, South Africa and many other wine growing countries.
