The Steenberg Five Lives shines in the glass with an intense ruby red colour and captivates from the very first moment with aromas of blackcurrants, ripe cherries and plums. A delicate hint of cinnamon adds a refined spicy touch to the vibrant fruit on the nose.

On the palate, this elegant blend impresses with silky texture and polished tannins, creating a beautifully balanced mouthfeel. Flavours of blackberries, dark cherries and a subtle note of aniseed add depth and complexity to the experience.
The harmonious composition of Merlot (73%), Cabernet Sauvignon (16%) and Malbec (11%) combines fruit intensity, structure and elegance. A careful 22-month maturation in French oak enhances the wine with additional depth, fine spice and remarkable complexity.

Ecologic Cultivation at Steenberg
Due to an ecological process, Steenberg creates an array of well-loved wines. The winery only utilizes biological pest control and natural predators of the vermin in order to influence the vines as little as possible. From the grape up to the bottle, the wines are geared to create an unforgettable experience which mirrors the terroir. The soils include granite and significantly contribute to the characteristic minerality of the wines. Steenberg cultivates grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Nebbiolo.
