Méthode Cap Classique

The Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) is the traditional way of making sparkling wine in South Africa according to the old champagne method. Méthode Cap Classique wines stand for absolute premium wines; Simonsig produced South Africa's first MCC, Kaapse Vonkel. Most MCCs contain the grape varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In 2015, Delaire Graff created the first MCC based on Chenin Blanc, the most cultivated white wine grape variety in South Africa.
