Bacco Prelude Red Blend 2020

Product information "Bacco Prelude Red Blend 2020"
A cuvée is more than the sum of its parts - the Bacco Prelude Red Blend is the best example of this. The aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice, blackcurrants, spices, cedar and plums pampers the connoisseur's senses. The cuvée of Malbec (55%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (45%) also impresses on the palate with its complexity and especially with its incredibly soft mouthfeel and fine tannins - this palate-pleaser will linger in the memory long after the last sip. You should therefore definitely try the Bacco Prelude Red Blend neat. The red wine, which has matured for 22 months in French oak, is also an excellent accompaniment to dark meat or savoury dishes and is particularly recommended with lamb or pork roulade.

Bacco Estate – artful wines from Paarl

The Bacco wine estate is located in the heart of the beautiful Paarl wine region. The first vines were planted in 2016 and the foundation stone was laid. It all began with Nathan Jankelowitz's passion for producing quality wines and the desire to create wines that stand out from other wines, even when compared internationally. Nathan was particularly inspired by the opulent wines from Tuscany, the so-called ‘Super Tuscans’. By founding Bacco, he fulfilled a dream. Infected by her father's enthusiasm, daughter Carla Jankelowitz also joined the family project.

Bacco Estate – savouring wine with all your senses

The trained pastry chef has already worked in London and now runs the luxurious and tastefully furnished tasting room at Bacco Estate – and treats visitors to cicchetti, a type of Italian tapas, and the estate's own patisserie specialities. The ‘Sensi de Bacco’ restaurant serves other culinary delights made from seasonally fresh ingredients. A glass of Bacco's excellent wines completes the refined culinary experience for all the senses – in the truest sense of the word, as the restaurant's name means ‘senses’ in Italian. The wines, which are produced with the utmost care, are also intended to appeal to all the senses of the connoisseur. The name of the winery itself also has a meaning, as it goes back to the Greek-Roman god of wine, Bacchus – but as the name was intended to sound more Italian, the winery was called Bacco.

The art of winemaking: Bacco Estate

Wine production at Bacco is an art: it is a symbiosis of tradition and innovation, combined with state-of-the-art technology, as the energy-efficient, ultra-modern wine cellar has been designed so that the wines can be produced with minimal intervention. For example, gravity is utilised optimally so that less pumping is required and the cooling and heating systems also make it possible to control the speed of fermentation. The result: complex wines with beautiful flavours and textures. In combination with the pursuit of perfection, the team succeeds in creating wines that capture their terroir as well as the characteristics of a particular vintage in the glass. While the wines in the Prelude range are characterised by their accessibility and express the style of the respective grape variety, the wines in the Bacco Estate collection are only produced in limited quantities. The grapes come from the estate's best vineyards and produce wines that impress with their complexity. However, all Bacco Estate wines have one thing in common: they are made to be savoured.
