Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is a white grape variety and the second most important white wine variety in the world after Chardonnay. It stands for crisp, tangy wines and is a cross between Traminer and Chenin Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc impresses with freshness, lively aromas of currants and gooseberries, and an energetic character. A grassy aroma is also not uncommon and distinguishes the grape variety. A Sauvignon Blanc drunk young still possesses all of its power, as they are rarely aged in wooden barrels. In South Africa, Sauvignon Blanc has become a real specialty, in which some wineries put their concentrated power and produce real top wines.
