French Oak

The French oak is used in the world of wine for the construction of barrique barrels. The wood comes mainly from the Cher, Alliers and Vosges areas. It gives the wine vanilla aromas and a harmonious overall impression. The French oak is also taken for the sweet tannin it gives the wine. However, the initial cost is high, so a wine aged in oak barrels is often higher in price.
