Bouquet

Bouquet, comes from the French and translated means bouquet of flowers. The term bouquet refers to the aromas created during winemaking and storage, or the scent of the mature wine in the glass. Since the 19th century, the word has been used as a complement to aroma, but there is no agreement on when to speak of bouquet and when to speak of aroma. Bouquet is an important criterion in the evaluation of quality and varies according to grape variety, growing region and vintage. South African wines usually have an intense bouquet due to their pronounced aroma, but this is still perceptible to varying degrees depending on the grape variety.
