Fascinated by the view that stretches all the way to Table Mountain, Emil den Dulk and his wife decided on a fresh start in Stellenbosch. They laid the foundations for the success of the boutique winery, which has made a name for itself with the production of world-class classic red wine blends. The luxurious wines from De Toren called Book XVII and The Black Lion were even among South Africa's ultra-premium wines.

Winemaker of De Toren: Martin Fourie
After studying at Elsenburg Agricultural College in Stellenbosch, Martin Fourie initially gained experience at home and abroad before joining De Toren as an assistant winemaker in 2016. Three years later, he took over the position of winemaker. His great passion is winemaking and in the production of the expressive red wines, he is able to benefit from the experience and knowledge gained from previous vintages to create distinctive wines.
