On the palate, the wine displays fine-grained tannins and a long, lingering finish. Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, it offers remarkable depth, balance and sophistication.
Perfect with peppery dishes or grilled meats – especially a juicy rump steak. The wine’s name pays homage to the French village of Merindol, the ancestral home of the Malan family, founders of Simonsig.
