Product information "Lanzerac Keldermeester Versameling Dok 2023"
The name “DOK” is an Afrikaans term of endearment for a doctor and pays tribute to legendary South African rugby icon Dr. Danie Craven, who regularly visited Lanzerac with his dog “Bliksem.”
The grapes originate from a tiny 0.38-hectare single vineyard in the Jonkershoek Valley of Stellenbosch. Planted in 1998 on decomposed granite soils, the vineyard produces intensely concentrated fruit with remarkable structure and elegance.
On the nose, the wine reveals expressive aromas of mulberries, fruit pastilles and liquorice. The palate is juicy, fruit-driven and elegant with soft polished tannins and vibrant acidity adding balance and complexity.
Natural yeast fermentation and 16 months of ageing in older French oak barrels add further depth and authentic terroir expression.
A rare South African Malbec with collector’s appeal and distinctive character – perfect for special occasions.
