La Motte Vin de Joie Rosé 2022

Product information "La Motte Vin de Joie Rosé 2022"
The La Motte Vin de Joie Rosé shimmers in a fine salmon pink in the glass and unfolds wonderful aromas of nectarine, grapefruit and melon in the bouquet. A hint of candyfloss surrounds the fruity notes and successfully rounds off the first impression. A pleasant acidity provides a nice mouthfeel and the fresh nuances of nectarines linger on the palate for a long time. Enjoy the blend of Grenache Noir (71%), Mourvèdre (17%), Shiraz (6%) and Cinsault (6%) pure or simply combine the rosé with salad, salmon or trout. The name of the La Motte Vin de Joie Rosé is reminiscent of the winery's French heritage, but at the same time also stands for the biodiversity of the Cape Winelands: the joy in the name stands for the Serruria Florida, a plant that is also known as the "blushing bride" thanks to its delicate pink colouring.

La Motte wine stands for top quality

The La Motte wine estate is situated in the middle of the beautiful Cape Winelands, not far from the town of Franschhoek. After an extensive renovation in 2010, La Motte has become one of the main destinations for international wine tourists in South Africa. La Motte Wine Estate extends its commitment to premium wine to neighbouring culinary and cultural areas. In the estate's own restaurant, guests can enjoy traditional dishes with a modern twist and, of course, sample a La Motte wine or two from South Africa. A museum also showcases the estate's turbulent history, while regular musical events are part of La Motte's proverbial good tone and make La Motte more than just a winery.

The wines of La Motte

At the La Motte winery, traditional winemaking is combined with state-of-the-art cellar technology to produce premium wines of the highest class, as the wine must meet strict quality criteria. The success of the wines is confirmed by the regular international awards for the La Motte wine produced year after year. Both the red and white wines reflect the winemakers' accumulated experience, but also their passion for wine from South Africa. On the 75 hectares of vineyards, mainly the grape varieties Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated. Among the unique red wines, the La Motte Pierneef Syrah-Viognier, which was dedicated to the South African landscape painter Jacob Hendrik Pierneef, whose artwork also adorns the label of the red wine, stands out in particular. In addition, the La Motte winery also produces a famous blend in the style of a Rhône wine composed of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, which bears the glamorous name "Hanneli R". But also the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Franschhoek Syrah are internationally recognised wines with great fruit aromas and a pleasant tannin structure. The fruity, uncomplicated white wines from La Motte, such as the Pierneef Sauvignon Blanc, Franschhoek Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc, round off the portfolio of La Motte perfectly and also convince as versatile food companions with a long-lasting taste.

La Motte with sustainable viticulture

The La Motte wine estate is committed to issues of nature conservation and gentle viticulture. For example, the winemakers preserve South Africa's natural flora, especially fynbos. La Motte is also a WWF Conservation Champion and a member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative, and therefore avoids the use of herbicides and pest control as far as possible. The grapes for the ripening process come from their own vineyards and from partner wineries in the surrounding area. This allows the winemakers to ensure consistently high quality while experimenting with the different terroirs. Every sip of the unique La Motte wines made from grapes from the vineyards located 300 to 400 metres above sea level makes the heart of every wine lover beat faster!
