Dornier Moordenaarskloof Tinta Barocca 2020

Product information "Dornier Moordenaarskloof Tinta Barocca 2020"
The Dornier Moordenaarskloof Tinta Barocca flows into the glass in a beautiful red and exudes the incredibly aromatic scent of raspberries and mulberries. Spicy notes skilfully play around the fruity aromas and give the bouquet its richness. Rich and well-structured, the red wine presents itself on the palate and the beautiful fruity notes are in harmonious balance with the fine tannins. The Dornier Moordenaarskloof Tinta Barocca says goodbye to the connoisseur with a long-lasting finish. The grapes of the expressive red wine come from almost 50-year-old vines, which ensure that the Dornier Moordenaarskloof Tinta Barocca can impressively reflect its terroir in Swartland. Therefore, you should definitely try the wine, which has been matured in oak for seventeen months, on its own. The Dornier Moordenaarskloof Tinta Barocca is also a wonderful companion to game and dark meat, which may come from the grill.

Dornier Family - complex and refined wines from Stellenbosch

The roots of the Dornier winery go back to the late 17th century, but it has only existed in its current form since 1995. At that time, the Dornier family bought the first of a total of four wine farms. In 2020, the Rupert family, whose earnings are not insignificant for the South African wine world, took over the Dornier winery. The focus is on producing premium wines that perfectly express their unique terroir in the Golden Triangle.

Dornier: Modern Wines of an outstanding Quality

The newly built wine cellar is just as eye-catching as the two painstakingly restored buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries and sets architectural accents with its curved roof, the processed brick and the many reflective surfaces. The wines are extremely modern and belong to the top class of South Africa. In addition to the Cocoa Hill and the Dornier Range, Dornier's portfolio includes the complex creations of the Donatus and Moordenaarskloof collections as well as the flagship wine CDM, which pays homage to Dornier's founder, Christoph Modeste Dornier.

Dornier's vineyards are the basis for diversity in the wine glass

The grapes for the excellent premium wines come from vineyards with different soil types and altitudes, so each grape variety receives the best conditions. At an altitude of 100 to 200 metres above sea level, for example, the vines can take root in deep, decomposed red or yellow granite or sandstone. In addition, cool sea breezes slow down the ripening process and intensify the aromas in the grapes. All of this contributes to the complexity of the wines that visitors can enjoy in Dornier's Tasting Room – along with the panoramic view of the Stellenbosch Mountains.
