Constantia Uitsig Ex Oppido Red Tableau 2020

Product information "Constantia Uitsig Ex Oppido Red Tableau 2020"
From the first moment, the Constantia Uitsig Ex Oppido Red Tableau delights with its aromas of blackcurrants and tobacco leaves, which are very present in the bouquet and are surrounded by light cherry notes. On the palate, these nuances continue and give the blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot a fruity and soft taste. Enjoy this red wine, which has been aged in barriques for twelve months, neat. The Constantia Uitsig Ex Oppido Red Tableau is also a wonderful companion to a nice filet or spicy dishes. A delicious charcuterie platter with goat cheese is also a wonderful combination with the red wine.

Constantia Uitsig – Creating the Future with the Roots of the Past

Constantia Uitsig's roots go back to the beginnings of South African viticulture, when Simon van der Stel founded his farm in Constantia. The winery is not only very aware of its traditional history, but also very proud of it. This is also reflected in the philosophy of the winery: rooted in the past, Constantia Uitsig sees itself as a refuge from the present and a gift for the future. The aspect of sustainability is therefore very important to the estate – in order to preserve the diversity of nature for future generations.

Constantia Uitsig Is Dedicated to Nature and Society

But the winery also takes its social responsibility very seriously and supports scholarship holders from pre-school children to graduates of the University of Cape Town financially with a foundation. In addition, education, fighting unemployment and protecting wildlife are among Constantia Uitsig's priorities. Constantia Uitsig also strives to grow as few non-native plants on the farm as possible. The wood from trees that have been felled for this reason is used in the redesign of buildings, just like the scantlings found on the site. The work in the vineyard should also be as natural as possible. Flowers provide variety, colour and attract various insects. These are not the only animals on the estate, native bird species also live here, which can also be seen on the label of the wine bottles.

Constantia Uitsig Focuses On World-Class White Wines

The Constantia Uitsig team not only wants to preserve the beauty of nature, but also to share it with visitors to the winery. A bike park offers riding fun for cycling enthusiasts of all ages. Seasonal dishes are served in the restaurant "The Blockhouse Kitchen". The wines can also be tasted here. Italian cuisine is served at "La Grotto Ristorante". The focus of the estate is on wines that express their terroir of decayed granite and sandstone soils near False Bay. As Constantia Uitsig is the lowest farm in the valley, the soils of the 25 hectares currently under vine are particularly suited to world-class white wines such as Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. In addition, the Constantia Uitsig portfolio includes various red wines, such as Red Horizon, Constantia Red and Red Tableau, with which the winery contributes to the high reputation and identity of the region. Incidentally, the name of the estate means "Constantia View" and is a tribute to the unique location in the valley: nestled between mountain slopes and False Bay, the view is simply beautiful.
