Vineyard

The vineyard is a clearly defined field where the vine plants are grown. According to the literal sense, the piece of land is located on a mountain, hill or elevation. However, the term vineyard is also used for flat areas. The soil type of the vineyard and the climate there have a decisive influence on the quality of the wines. Soil management involves fertilizing, watering and pest prevention. Newly planted vineyards today are mostly designed to be mechanized and also have irrigation systems in hot and dry regions.
