IWSC – International Wine & Spirit Competition
The International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), founded in 1969 by Austrian-British oenologist Anton Massel, is one of the most prestigious competitions in the global wine and spirits industry. Each year, thousands of wines and spirits from over 90 countries are blind-tasted and evaluated. The judging process involves an international panel of over 250 experts, including Masters of Wine, sommeliers, winemakers, and industry journalists. Products are served anonymously in pre-poured glasses to ensure impartiality. In addition to sensory evaluation, entries undergo technical analysis to uphold the highest quality standards. Awards range from Bronze (85–89 points) to Silver (90–94 points), Gold (95–97 points), and Gold Outstanding (98–100 points). Each year, trophies are also awarded for exceptional achievements.
