Riesling

Riesling is a white grape variety and enjoys a high reputation on the wine market worldwide, with Germany in particular being considered Riesling country. A young Riesling tastes of limes, apricots and apples, whereas an older one enjoys a particular spicy note. The slightly sweeter version of the wine has honey and jam tones.Riesling contains a delightfully aromatic flavor and delivers a light, fragrant wine with lively acidity. In South Africa, the Riesling grape has quickly become a specialty. On the one hand, it is used in cuvées to round out white wines with the characteristics of the grape variety, and on the other hand, it is used in varietal dessert wines with the excellent combination of acidity and extracts. However, in terms of taste, a South African Riesling differs greatly from its German counterpart, but not in terms of quality.
