Blending
Blending, also known as cuvée, is the artful mixing of wines from different grapes, origins, styles or vintages. It attempts to combine the various positive characteristics of individual grapes or wines to create a higher and more consistent quality. Blending is common in sparkling wines. The most famous blended wine is Champagner, but also the famous Bordeaux or Rhône blends are nothing else than blended wines.
