Jacoba Six - for the love of South Africa's unique nature.

A pure piece of South Africa – that is the Jacoba Six collection. Born out of a passion for excellence, the limited and exclusive wines in this line are also a declaration of love to the biodiverse and simply breathtaking nature and diverse culture of South Africa, as they expressively reflect their terroir in Stellenbosch and Constantia. At the same time, the collection commemorates Jacoba Six, the wife of Simon van der Stel, who is considered the founding father of the wine industry in the Cape.

Wines with South African charm and history

Jacoba Six presents itself as a very special wine collection available exclusively at CAPREO. This special range embodies grace, elegance and high class wines. The premium wines are not only characterised by their high quality, they are also perfect for special occasions. Their noble appearance and unique flavour experience make them an excellent choice. This ensemble of four wines was named Jacoba Six after Simon van der Stel's wife. Simon van der Stel, who became the first governor of the Cape in 1679, is regarded as the founding father of the South African winemaking tradition that is still successful today (as seen in the CAPREO logo). Johanna Jacoba van der Stel, née Six, gives this collection a historical and cultural reference. But not only that, the wines also represent a passion for South Africa, its caring hospitality and the fascinating culture characterised by the influence of the immigrants. This collection, which promises pleasure and enjoyment, is therefore also a tribute to the incredible South Africa.

Artfully crafted elegance from a master hand

The Jacoba Six wines not only shine on the palate, but are also an absolute feast for the eyes with their well-designed and finely crafted labels, which can be admired on each of these bottles. Framed by silver ornaments, the eye is immediately drawn to the golden, intertwined logo consisting of the letters J and S. This stands out beautifully against the white label and immediately catches the eye. In keeping with this, the corks have been sealed with a golden layer of wax, which makes a great impression. But the aesthetic appearance is not the only thing that makes this collection special. As the golden lettering at the bottom of the labels suggests, this range is a winemaker's collection. Only specialists in the respective grape varieties were selected to participate in the creation of these wines. An absolute elegance of craftsmanship.  The result can be seen in the outstanding example of the Jacoba Six Red Blend, which received the coveted Mundus Vini Gold award in 2019 from experts in the art of winemaking.

The best of both worlds

The wines from the Jacoba Six collection come from the picturesque wine-growing regions of Constantia and Stellenbosch in South Africa. Stellenbosch got its name from the former governor of Cape Town, Simon van der Stel, who founded this settlement, which soon became the centre of winegrowing. For his services to the Dutch East India Trading Company, he was given a generous piece of land - Constantia, on which he experimented with wine, among other things. In the 18th century, Constantia wine became particularly popular with the nobility and this tradition of high quality is continued by the Jacoba Six range. The two important locations, Stellenbosch and Constantia, also characterise the composition of the Jacoba Six wines. The red wines are characterised by the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz grape varieties, which are well known in these regions, while the white wines impress with notes of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This selection combines the best of both worlds and is reflected in the character of the 4 wines in this collection.
