De Krans – excellent wines from Klein Karoo
The brothers Boets and Strobel Nel have been creating excellent wines of the very highest standard on their family vineyard De Krans for over 30 years – in an area that at first glance does not look like a wine-growing region: Klein Karoo. In the dry semi-desert landscape, Portuguese grape varieties thrive particularly well and De Krans is one of the leading producers in the Cape, using them to make first-class wines that capture their unique terroir in Calitzdorp – just like the creations in the Broederskap collection.

Christoff de Wet
Christoff de Wet studied in Elsenburg and then went to Australia and California before taking up a position as assistant winemaker at Distell in 2010. Christoff de Wet has been cellar master at De Krans since 2019. When he's not in the vineyards or in the cellar, you might meet Christoff hiking, camping or on the sports field, because the cellar master's heart beats not only for excellent wines, but also for tennis, which is one of his favourite sports.
