The sparkling wine made from Chardonnay (48%), Pinot Noir (49%), Pinot Meunier (2.4%) and Pinot Blanc (0.6%) shimmers in the glass in a light gold colour and delights from the very first moment with its fine perlage and elegance. Aromas of crisp green apples and a hint of pear characterise the bouquet of Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut. On the palate, the sparkling wine impresses with its freshness and fruity character. The winery Simonsig is located 45 kilometres away from Cape Town and belongs to the region Stellenbosch. This is not surprising, as Stellenbosch and therefore vineyards such as Simonsig benefit from the ideal location. Soils are full of minerals and supply the vines with precious nutrients due to sufficient rainfall, whilst the breeze from the Atlantic makes for the required cooling.

This is another example of the winemakers' expertise, who succeed in combining the different grape varieties every year - and this of a constant high quality. Additionally, Simonsig is active in preservation of native plants such as the Fynbos.
