Beyerskloof Traildust 2020

Product information "Beyerskloof Traildust 2020"
Ruby red, the Beyerskloof Traildust shines in the glass and exudes the incredibly fruity scent of red fruits and cherries. A hint of sweet oak adds a slightly spicy component to the bouquet. The palate continues to be fruity: notes of plums, cherries and red berries pamper the connoisseur and are surrounded by soft tannins. The well-balanced Beyerskloof Traildust is a blend of Pinotage (35%), Cinsault (33%) and Pinot Noir (32%), aged for twelve months in French oak. Enjoy the red wine either pure or with duck. Spicy dishes are also a good choice with Beyerskloof Traildust. Incidentally, the name of the wine commemorates all those who help the Pinotage grapes find their way from the vineyard to the connoisseur's glass.

Beyerskloof – the Pinotage specialist in the Cape

In the national and international wine world, Beyerskloof is considered the home of South African Pinotage wines – and rightly so. Already during his time as winemaker at Kanonkop, Beyers Truter, founder of Beyerskloof, was committed to the red grape variety. With a wide range of Pinotage variations, he and his team have made a significant contribution to promoting South Africa's national grape and still ensure that world-class Pinotage wines are produced today. Today, Beyerskloof is one of South Africa's leading red wine producers; passionate winemaking is a way of life at the estate in Stellenbosch.

Beyerskloof: Success with father-son teamwork

The winemaker Beyers Truter was the first South African winemaker to be awarded as the Winemaker of the Year by the judges of the International Wine and Spirit Competition. The uncrowned ‘King of Pinotage’ studied at the Stellenbosch University and therefore has the required knowledge about the area to have constant success. Skill and a fine sense for the right grape varieties and combinations have brought him and his wines numerous awards. He is also the founder of the Pinotage Association that has the aim to push the vine Pinotage even further through detailed studies and courage to experiment. Meanwhile, his son Anri followed in his footsteps and is responsible as winemaker on the family vineyard. In 2012, Anri Truter was named "Young Winemaker of the Year" by Diners Club with the flagship wine Diesel Pinotage.

Beyerskloof: "The character of a wine begins in the vineyard"

At Beyerskloof, the focus is on the Pinotage grape variety, which is vinified both as a single variety and in blends. However, one thing is true for all wines and cultivated grape varieties: "The true character of a wine begins in the vineyards", is the conviction of the team, which continues the hard work in the vineyard with innovative practices in the wine cellar. The result: award-winning wines that can be enjoyed in the Tasting Room. Pleasurable moments are also provided by the Read Leaf Bistro. In addition to culinary delights and excellent wines, there is also a beautiful view of the vineyards.
