The grapes used for the Lanzerac Pioneer Pinotage come from a single vineyard and deliver a red wine that shimmers in an impressive dark red in the glass. Aromas of plums and red fruits, which are typical for the Pinotage grape variety, pamper the nose and palate of the connoisseur. Complex and velvety soft, the Lanzerac Pioneer Pinotage caresses the palate and lingers for a long time. In the course of time, the red wine, which was matured for 21 months in barriques, will still develop notes of chocolate and caramel. Enjoy the Lanzerac Pioneer Pinotage either pure or with spicy dishes of dark meat or duck. Incidentally, the name of the red wine is reminiscent of the first Pinotage bottled at Lanzerac in 1959.

The Lanzerac Winery
The
Lanzerac winery spreads across 150 hectares, from which a third is reserved for
the vines. Noble grapes such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage and
Cabernet Sauvignon find optimal conditions. Premium wine has been produced here
since the 17th century, and despite changing owners the winemakers always
succeeded in producing products of the highest quality.There
is even a luxurious hotel on the Lanzerac estate. The numerous guests can relax
here and enjoy modern South African cuisine in several restaurants, together
with a Lanzerac wine.
