Product information "Springfield Thunderchild 2024"
The idea behind Thunderchild is to support these children and help create new perspectives for them. The grapes come from a five-hectare vineyard planted on the children’s home’s grounds – and the profits from the wine are donated to the children.
The blend brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot in a harmonious red wine with structure, fruit and classic Bordeaux character. Chalk and calcrete soils, together with cool nights, give the wine freshness and expression.
After fermentation of uncrushed berries with native yeasts, the wine matured for twelve months in French barrels, followed by a further twelve months of bottle ageing. The Thunderchild 2024 is balanced, fruit-driven and elegantly structured – a distinctive red wine with both enjoyment and meaning.
