Silene Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 – Bold Expression of Stellenbosch Terroir
The Silene Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 offers a captivating expression of Stellenbosch, blending 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc into a wine of depth, elegance, and regional character.
The 2023 vintage brought low yields and small berry sizes, resulting in a wine with concentrated fruit intensity. Aged for 14 months in French oak (30% new), it is both polished and powerful.
Expect a bouquet of blueberries, cassis, and black olive tapenade, followed by layers of dark velvety fruit, subtle dark chocolate notes, and the signature fragrance of a well-worn cigar box. Fine-grained tannins provide a soft, silky texture and a long, satisfying finish.
Food pairing: Ideal with grilled steak, game dishes, or aged hard cheeses.
