Sourced from 50-year-old vines in the Swartland, the wine shows red-berry and plum aromas with hints of spice and herbal nuance. On the palate, it is velvety, rich, and harmonious, displaying notes of cherry, liquorice, and wild herbs. Fine acidity brings freshness and lift to the concentrated fruit.
After cold soaking, fermentation was stopped by fortification with wine and brandy spirit. The wine then matured for 12 months in French oak before an additional 24 months of bottle ageing.
A powerful yet refined Cape Vintage – excellent with dark chocolate or rich desserts.
