Boekenhoutskloof Sémillon 2022 - Iconic White from Historic Vines
The Boekenhoutskloof Sémillon 2022 is one of South Africa’s most remarkable white wines - crafted from vines up to 120 years old in Franschhoek. Its heritage, minimal intervention viticulture and timeless style make this a true collector’s gem.
In the glass, it glows a rich golden yellow. On the nose, you’ll find layered aromas of orange blossom, ripe citrus, quince and chamomile, underpinned by hints of beeswax, ginger and toasted almond. A stony minerality evokes comparisons to the great Sémillons of Bordeaux.
The palate is full-bodied, textured and refined. Fresh citrus is supported by creamy mouthfeel, ripe stone fruit and gentle oak - thanks to 14 months of barrel ageing in French oak. The finish is long, saline and deeply complex.
Food Pairing: Perfect with scallops, creamy chicken dishes or grilled salmon.

🏡 A Heritage of History – Boekenhoutskloof since 1776
Boekenhoutskloof, meaning “Valley of the Boekenhout Tree,” was founded in 1776 by French Huguenots in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley. Today, it is one of South Africa’s most prestigious wineries. The combination of centuries-old winemaking tradition and an uncompromising focus on quality has brought Boekenhoutskloof international acclaim, with wines that consistently earn top ratings and awards.
🍷 A Style of Balance – Terroir & French Elegance
Chief Winemaker Marc Kent has played a key role in shaping the estate’s philosophy. His frequent visits to France influence a style defined by elegance, depth, and character – whether it's a bold Syrah or a refined Sémillon. Vines flourish in carefully selected plots in Franschhoek and Swartland, where sustainable viticulture and low yields result in expressive wines with a clear sense of origin.
🏆 Cult Wines from South Africa – Innovation Meets Authenticity
Boekenhoutskloof is renowned for its iconic wines, including the award-winning Syrah, rare old-vine Sémillon, and the popular Porcupine Ridge range. Despite global recognition and strong demand, the winery remains grounded in its values – with a philosophy rooted in humility, quality, and sustainability. A true jewel of South African winemaking culture.
