With a beautiful golden colour, the Dornier Sémillon flows into the glass and enchants the nose from the very first moment with a wealth of aromas. Notes of fresh hay, honey, caramelized apples and lemon peel characterize the complex bouquet whose complexity continues on the palate. Rich nuances of quince, lemon and brioche make the white wine a taste experience, as does the balanced acidity and opulent, creamy texture. The Dornier Sémillon has matured for ten months in French oak and will be remembered long after the last sip. Therefore, the white wine is already a pleasure when drunken straight, but it also goes perfectly with aromatic and spicy dishes, Asian cuisine or poultry.

Family-owned Dornier Winery

The winery consists of two estates that had originally been separated; their roots reach back until the late 17th century. The actual Dornier winery as it exists today has only been around since 1995. Back then, the family Dornier bought the first two of its five wine farms. It is still run by the family today, supported by an excellent team of winemakers and employees. The premium sector is clearly the focus which is obtained through a constantly high quality on the wine slope, an almost perfectionist standard as well as an experienced and skilled implementation. Since 2006, the estate is a member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative and therefore significantly supports sustainable cultivation in South Africa.

Modern Wines of an outstanding Quality

The new built wine cellar is also an eye catcher like the two restored historic buildings from the 18 th and 19 th century and with its curved roof, the use of brick and reflecting materials, it sets an architectonical course. The wines are very modern and belong to the high-end class of South Africa. They are aimed at the discerning gourmet that likes traditional notes of a good wine but also looks for strong and at the same time elegant innovations in the bouquet as well as taste.

Relax and unwind

At the winery, visitors can easily relax and unwind. A calm and contemplative atmosphere in the modern but never obtrusive architecture makes for the needed relaxation. The fascinating view of the Stellenbosch Mountains in the middle of fynbos hills and the planted vines impressively supports that effect. The whole estate is filled with a special hospitality that just makes you want to grab a glass of wine and have a good time. The restaurant Bodega offers seasonal menus which consist of locally and fresh ingredients and combines modern preparation with a classic, almost timeless style.
