Zevenwacht – family-run Winery
The South-African winery Zevenwacht is run by the family Johnson. Harold and Denise Johnson have bought the farm in 1992 and since then, with great personal commitment, pursue the aim to develop the full potential of this great estate. Together with the winemaker Jacques Viljoen, they have established a simple but effective philosophy: the true quality of a wine starts at the wine slope. This is why the wine farmers of Zevenwacht exclusively plant the best noble grapes and work the land with gentle cultivation methods in order to get the best out of the vines and the grapes growing on them. As a member of the Biodiversity & Wine Initiative (BWI in short), they have also committed to only use natural methods for protecting the vines against diseases and pests. Due to this sustainable cultivation, the Zevenwacht wines perfectly mirror their terroir and feature an unaltered, authentic taste.

The Zevenwacht Winery
If you travel along the famous Stellenbosch wine route, you should definitely pay a visit to the winery. The overwhelming panoramic view of the Table Bay and False Bay as well as the Table Mountain alone is worth a visit. The actual Zevenwacht winery covers more than 450 hectares, of which a little less than half is cultivated with noble vines and finest clones. The fantastic cuisine of the restaurant on the estate excites with menus that feature contemporary finesse as well as the typical South African charm.
