The Simonsig Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs shines in a pale straw yellow in the glass. Only the best Chardonnay grapes grown on the best soils in Stellenbosch were used for this exceptional sparkling wine. A fresh scent of lemon blossom, apples and stone fruit rises to the nose, paired with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread. On the palate, the Simonsig Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs impresses with its extremely fine perlage and a beautiful acidity, which is surrounded by mineral tones, before the sparkling wine leaves with a long-lasting finish. The complex Simonsig Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs was produced according to traditional methods, underwent the second fermentation in the bottle and was then given another three years to mature. Thanks to its complexity, this expressive sparkling wine turns every occasion into a special moment. Enjoy the Simonsig Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs on its own, but it is also a wonderful accompaniment to light dishes with seafood or fish.

Simonsig: ‘Home of the Cap Classique’

Simonsig is inseparably connected with the term de Cap Classique. This is a sparkling wine that the winemakers have created using the same strict rules and regulations as for a Champagne, but just not in France but on the Cape of South Africa. Simonsig was the first winery in South Africa that produced a Cap Classique and is therefore rightly the home of the Cap Classique of the country. If you visit the winery, definitely have a sip from the tangy, fruity Kaapse Vonkel. Otherwise, the visit just would not be complete.

High Standard of Service and Competence in the Tasting Room

Guests at Simonsig very much like the exceptionally good service of the estate that often goes beyond not just the expected, but also the dreamed-of. The atmosphere in the Tasting Room, as actually everywhere on the yard, is cordially and captivates with its secure competence in all aspects about wine from South Africa. Here, the visitor has the feeling of not only being a guest, but also a friend. The consistent overall picture is rounded off by the relaxed atmosphere and excellent food in the restaurant Cuvée that fills the plates with a delicious fusion of European cuisine and Cape recipes.

Tradition at the family-run Winery Simonsig

Right from the beginning, Simonsig had been owned by the Malan family. For over 300 years, the generations have passed on their knowledge and skills onto the next family generation, whilst the younger one always further develops the wines. It is exactly this fact - the traditional estate still being in the hands of one family - that makes the wines so special. In 1971, Simonsig was founder members of the first wine route in South Africa for gourmets worldwide who can now discover the most magnificent delicacies of the country.
