The Eikehof Rosé is a fresh and full-bodied blend of Shiraz (70%), Sauvignon Blanc (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), which spoils the nose and palate of the connoisseur with its wonderful aromas of red fruits. Notes of strawberries and cranberries are particularly present and ensure carefree enjoyment. Therefore, the Eikehof Rosé is already a delight to the palate on its own, but it also accompanies light dishes excellently.

Eikehof – Family winery in fourth tradition

Nestled in the shadow of old oaks, which gave the winery its name, a small gem is hidden in the neighborhood of La Motte: Eikehof. Founded in the year 1858, it has been owned by the Malherbe family since 1903 that has been producing wines for four generations now and it’s Francois Malherbe who today stands in the wine cellar which his great-grandfather constructed. His love for the wine production is for him far more than just a professional career: “Eikehof has always been a part of my roots.” It is the beauty of the nature that drives him in his work. The result: wines of the finest quality.

Lovely atmosphere in the Tasting Room of Eikehof

The vineyards, lined by peach trees, extend over 23 hectares on which the grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sémillon, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are planted. Only out of the best grapes fruity-fresh and elegant white wines are produced as well as complex and full-bodied red wines which all are outstanding companions to food. A Rosé and a Cape Ruby round Eikehof´s collection off. Francois and Elize Malherbe and their team are passionate about their work and are happy to share their enthusiasm and passion with the guests in the Tasting Room. In a relaxed and informal atmosphere the visitors of Eikehof can try the unmistakable creations of the winery and can be pampered by a delicious cheeseboard – facts worth knowing about the wines and a dreamlike view on the Drakenstein Mountains are inclusive.

Unforgettable celebrations in a former stable

The beautiful environment is also an ideal location for weddings, birthday parties or company events that take place in the former stable. Around 1900 the four-legged friends were still at home, the team of Eikehof ensures today that every celebration in the shadow of the old oaks becomes an unforgettable event. The small winery in Franschhoek Valley is by all means worth a visit – this is also confirmed by many impressed voices in the travel portal Tripadvisor that due to the regular good rating has awarded Eikehof the “certificate for excellence”.
