The Lanzerac Pinotage is a full-bodied and complex red wine that delights the connoisseur with its wonderful balance of fruit and oak notes. The dark colour alone promises an excellent red wine – a promise that the Lanzerac Pinotage also keeps. After all, the winery that bottled a Pinotage as the very first is the specialist for South Africa's national grape and the Lanzerac Pinotage is an icon among the Pinotages. The fruity notes of ripe berries and plums pamper the nose and linger long on the palate, while the good tannin structure gives the red wine, which was matured for 15 months in French oak, an extremely good potential for development. In the course of time, the red wine will show even more aromas of caramel and chocolate. However, the great mouthfeel already makes the Lanzerac Pinotage a unique taste experience; especially with dishes with game the red wine is highly recommended. But also aromatic and hearty dishes or the Asian cuisine are a good choice for Lanzerac Pinotage.

Lanzerac Wine of outstanding Quality

With its true high quality wines, Lanzerac excites wine lovers worldwide. Whilst grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc are fresh and tangy, the red wines such as the Le General have a wonderfully strong and complex taste. Hence, Lanzerac offers the right wine for every taste.  In 1959, Lanzerac was the first winery to bottle a Pinotage.

The Winery Lanzerac

The winery Lanzerac has an area of about 150 hectares; almost 50 of them are reserved for wine cultivation. The estate can look back on a long history that is over 300 years old and therefore belongs to the oldest and most successful estates of the country.
Additionally, there is a true luxury hotel on the estate that is able to satisfy even the most demanding customers. Together with a starred restaurant in which modern South African cuisine is served, Lanzerac stands for pure pleasure amongst South Africa enthusiasts.

Perfect Climate at the Winery Lanzerac

Lanzerac is located in the famous wine region Stellenbosch, the heart of the South African Winelands. Ideal climatic conditions are present here that enable the cultivation of the noble grapes in the first place. Wonderful, multifaceted soils and sufficient rain make for an optimal growth of the vines and the grapes.

The winemakers and the whole team concerned with wine production all have years of experience that they use when cultivating and developing the Lanzerac wines. Only through their skills, the great high quality wines can be created for which the estate Lanzerac is so famous.

Lanzerac focuses on natural Taste

The winery Lanzerac and its winemakers follow a simple yet very effective philosophy. Only good grapes deliver excellent wine and the cellar technology should merely be supportive. This is why Lanzerac has indeed one of the most modern cellars in South Africa, yet only uses it carefully and targeted. It is always about preserving the natural taste of the grape varieties.
