The Grande Provence Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect red wine for a cosy evening. Wonderful fruity notes of raspberries, cherries, mulberries and plums, paired with tobacco nuances, pamper the senses of the connoisseur, while the velvety soft tannins caress the palate. The elegant red wine has matured for 24 months in French oak and goes perfectly with hearty dishes with dark meat. You should try it in combination with a delicious steak or lamb in rosemary. But the Lanzerac Cabernet Sauvignon is also a culinary highlight on its own.

With its wines’ quality, Grande Provence certainly lives up to its name. Excellent white, red and sparkling wines are a fixed part of the winery’s portfolio. If you have tasted a Grande Provence wine once, it is highly likely you will always stay with this winery. The winemakers exclusively use the best noble grapes for the cultivation on the fantastic terroir in order for the best possible results. Every vintage develops a character that is unique to it, and each and every wine is of a decidedly high quality. The so-called ‘flagship wine’ is ‘The Grande Provence’. This full-bodied and complex red wine is considered by many gourmets to be the best of South African wine art with its bouquet of mint and notes of ripe plums.

History full of Tradition

Grande Provence can look back on a long and successful history. In 1694, the Frenchman Pierre Joubert arrived in South Africa and founded the estate. Success came quite quickly, so that he could purchase surrounding farms; amongst them the famous estate La Motte, for example. Each following generation expanded the knowledge and the own skills in cultivation. Today, a good Grande Provence wine belongs into every gourmet’s well-assorted wine cellar. This is a testimony to the constant success of the winery.

Fantastic Food in a chic Atmosphere

In the five-star restaurant that belongs to the winery, the employees around Darren Badenhorst create fantastic dishes in a chic and modern environment. Galvanised metal and steel constructions are an interesting contrast to the rest of the ‘Cape Dutch’ architecture. An equally perfect combination is the selected dishes of the restaurant together with the outstanding Grande Provence wines. Almost no other restaurant manages the combination of menu and wine selection quite as perfectly. The friendly and tastefully service in the restaurant as well as in the exquisitely furnished boutique rounds off the magnificent impression when visiting the estate.
