The Holden Manz Vernissage shimmers ruby red in the glass and smells wonderfully of raspberries, ripe cherries and mulberries. The fruity aromas are surrounded by smoky notes and white pepper. On the palate, the blend of Shiraz (35%), Merlot (33%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (32%) impresses with its mature but silky soft tannin structure and the beautiful harmony of fruity nuances, tobacco and herbal notes as well as a balanced acidity. Enjoy the Holden Manz Vernissage, which matured 18 months in French oak after harvesting, best with dark meat, especially lamb, or delicious pasta.

The Picturesque Winery Holden Manz

The wonderful five star winery Holden Manz is located between Franschhoek and the Stony Brook River. From there, you can overlook the idyllic valley and the beautiful mountain range, and only 60 kilometers away from Cape Town. The name of the estate is a combination of the last names of the owners; the Brit Gerard Holden and the German Migo Manz. Both purchased the estate in August 2010 with the former name ‘Klein Genoot’ and subsequently renamed it. From then on with the primary target to produce unique wine creations, paired with luxurious exclusivity. The Holden Manz Wine Estate is nowadays without a doubt one of the most attractive and best wineries in South Africa.
In part it is the talented winemaker Thierry Haberer that is responsible for the first class quality of wine production but it is also the fertile, clayey soils of the region that guarantee fantastic yields. The wines from the Holden Manz estate are, despite the short existence, appreciated internationally and have been awarded at numerous competitions. The Holden Manz Big G from the Avant Garde Range has, amongst others, won Gold at the 2011 ‘Decanter World Wine Awards’ in London.
The portfolio of the wine producer from Franschhoek includes the broad selection of grape varieties which are all proof of unique quality and structure. Wines like the Holden Manz Merlot, Shiraz, Rosé or the Cabernet Sauvignon prove their premium segment with 4 Platter Stars each.

Luxurious Atmosphere at the Winery Holden Manz

Besides the conditions and the accommodating location of the winery, the wine producer captures the imagination of the numerous visitors and guests due to its exclusive offer. It includes four rooms which are all individually furnished and in keeping in with the luxurious aesthetic of the house.
The comfortable spa is located right next to the guest house. With its selection of treatments, its own yoga studio and massage offers, a stay there comes close to a comprehensive wellness holiday. Even their own locally made care products are available.
In the restaurant Franschhoek Kitchen, guests are spoiled with delicious Italian specialties. The ingredients are all sourced locally and from their very own vegetable and herb garden. All of the delightful wines from Holden Manz can be enjoyed here. Furthermore, Holden Manz offers a variety of activities including hikes, picnics and wine tastings for the guests to enjoy.
