The Windfang Mosel III is an elegant, yet wonderfully uncomplicated red wine made from Spätburgunder grapes. The beautiful red colour and the wonderful fruit aromas in the bouquet immediately make the hearts of red wine lovers beat faster. Intense notes of sour cherries, blackberries and currants are flanked by spicy pepper and stewed plums, and on the palate the wine delights with a smooth and buttery soft character. The Windfang Mosel III owes its fine tannins, which provide a great mouthfeel, to its 24 months of ageing in wooden barrels. As the red wine is very versatile, it goes very well with aromatic dishes or meat, which may also come from the grill. But even on its own, the Windfang Mosel III is always a treat for the palate. The red wine belongs to the Windfang collection, which stands for modern and elegant creations that capture the typical terroir of the German wine-growing regions. Windfang – modern, uncomplicated wines from Germany

A fresh wind is blowing through the German wine regions – whether in fairy-tale Rheinhessen or elsewhere along the Rhein, Main and Mosel: the young generation of winemakers succeeds in capturing the very special magic that the German wine-growing regions unfold, as well as the unique terroir that characterises the respective growing regions. It is immediately noticeable that they get the best out of the vines: their wines are modern, elegant and inspire with their fine structure, freshness and fruit. However, above all, they are incredibly tasty.

Windfang offers fairytale enjoyment for every occasion

The wines of the Windfang collection – four white wines, one rosé and one red wine – simply prepare pleasurable moments for every palate. While the fresh, floral-scented Chardonnay from Rheinhessen flatters the palate with lots of fruit and subtle acidity, the classic Rhine-Hessian Weißburgunder pampers the senses in a fabulous way with characteristics of juicy apricot aromas, almond notes and fine texture. The two white wines from the Mosel are fruity and fresh and, with the Elbling and Auxerrois grape varieties, bring two specialities from the Mosel to the bottle. The delicate and well-balanced Rhine-Hessian rosé made from Spätburgunder grapes will make every rosé lover go into raptures with its wonderful strawberry notes and creamy, elegant structure. Red wine fans will get their money's worth with the elegant and fine Spätburgunder from the Mosel. Whether with food or for light-hearted enjoyment – with the creations of the Windfang collection, you will always have the right wine in your glass.

Discover Germany: Windfang Wine from Rheinhessen

The first growing region from which the wines in the Windfang collection originate is Rheinhessen in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany's largest growing region in terms of area, with 26,800 hectares. The region is also known by the nickname "Land of a Thousand Hills", but the fantastically beautiful hilly landscape also has a very practical effect: it provides a mild climate with plenty of sunshine – ideal for growing grapes. The many different soils also ensure that many white and also some red wine varieties feel very much at home in Rheinhessen. Burgundy varieties in particular are becoming increasingly popular with winegrowers. The wines of the Windfang collection are the best example that it is worthwhile to focus more on these grape varieties again. The second growing region that has recently enriched the line with three wines is the Mosel – after all, Germany's oldest wine-growing region cannot be missing from the Windfang collection! Nowhere else can you find so many steep vineyard slopes as here. The shell limestone soils of the Upper Mosel offer optimal conditions for the Burgundy varieties and the white grape variety Elbling – you can taste that in the Windfang wines!
