The L'Avenir Provenance Chenin Blanc is a crisp and at the same time fine representative of a Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch, which flows into the glass in a light straw yellow. Intense aromas of peach and melon unfold in the bouquet and are surrounded by a light honey note. Nuances of almonds successfully round off the first impression. With fine fruity notes and spicy hints, the L'Avenir Provenance Chenin Blanc also delights on the palate. Fruity aromas of apricots, peaches and pineapple are accentuated by a hint of honey. Half of the elegant and complex white wine matured in oak for nine months. Be sure to enjoy the L'Avenir Provenance Chenin Blanc neat. Thanks to its beautiful acidity and its fruity-spicy character, the white wine is also a great food companion - try it with grilled fish, seafood or a mild curry, for example.

L‘ Avenir – South African character with french flair

The winery L´Avenir is ocated in the golden triangle between Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and can look back on its long history dating back to the 17th century. Originally a part of the estate Weltevrede, 1912 the first vines were planted. The winery has been given its current name when it became independent and was taken over by Mark Wiehe. At that point in time, L´Avenir was a famous grape supplier, however it did not produce wines. This changed, the go-ahead for the unique boutique winery has been given and the name (“avenir “ means future in French) was the program, after all the future belonged to the winery. L´Avenir gained recognition very fast for its unmistakable creations of the grape varieties Pinotage and Chenin Blanc – until today the South African national grapes are the showpiece of the winery. In the year 2005 the family Laroche acquired the winery and seven years later joined forces with the family JeanJean to found Advini. A new era began for L´Avenir that has become a part of the company.

Specialist for Pinotage and Chenin Blanc

Today L´Avenir belongs to the leading boutique wineries in Stellenbosch, which has specialized on Chenin Blanc and knows how to combine their authentic South African character with French flair. The result: elegant wines, that mirror their terroir. The grape vines, whose grapes are used for the flagship wines of the Single Block Range, are partly up to 60 years old. The pinotage stands out due to its fine structure, the flavours of ripe cherries and a hint of dark chocolate. The Chenin Blanc on the other hand impresses by rich and complex fruit nuances which are accentuated by almonds and light notes of honey. In the vineyard as well as in the cellar L´Avenir attaches utmost importance to innovation – and the experimentations are rewarded since this creativity led to the Glenrosé, South Africa´s first Pinotage Rosél, the grapes of which come from a single vineyard.

A heart for humans and nature

The winery does not only operate innovatively in the wine production, but it contributes to the future as well being committed to sustainability and being active in social sectors. Additionally, L´Avenir is a member of the Pebbles Project, which supports disadvantaged children and their families living in the Winelands of the Western Cape in areas including education, health and diet. The winery has a heart for its guests as well offering an elegant ambience in the 4-star-country lodge where the guests can escape from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the view on the gently rising vineyards.
