The best wine estates from South Africa

Lanzerac Stands for Excellent Quality in South Africa

For more than three decades, the Lanzerac wines have been enjoying international recognition due to their outstanding quality. The winery’s red wines excite with their stylish elegance and the white variations entice with an excellent freshness and sprightliness. Lanzerac particularly wants to express the joy of delight and create memories of the place where the visitors enjoyed this wine for the first time. The delicious Cabernet Sauvignon is the estate’s flagship even though the full-bodied and rounded Merlot matches it in terms of quality. Typical characteristics of all Lanzerac wines are a rich and ripe fruit aroma which are a wonderful antipole to the tannins and oak notes. The modern cellar technology is also excellent which keeps the quality at a top level all the time.

The Unique Terroir Offers Endless Possibilities

Lanzerac is located at the border of the historic and picturesque town Stellenbosch in the Jonkershoek Valley in South Africa. Dramatic mountain ranges as well as lush vineyards make this one of the most beautiful corners of the world. The nutrient soils as well as the maritime climate create perfect conditions for the premium wines of Lanzerac. Additionally, the winery houses numerous galleries, museums, hiking trails and other nature experiences and – due to the luxury hotel and the sophisticated cuisine – is one of the most popular destinations in Stellenbosch.

Long-Standing and High QualityWine Cultivation in Stellenbosch

The history of the winery dates back to the late 17th century. After many changes of owners, the Stellenbosch Farmers’ Winery gradually stopped production in the middle of the 1970s. When in 1991, the banker Christo Wiese purchased the winery, the Cape Dutch farm produced premium wine at an international level to its full extent. Wynand Lategan, an outdoor enthusiast and passionate winemaker, has been exciting the wine world and its critics with
his unique premium wines since 2005.
