Eagles' Nest Wine
Eagles' Nest wine unites elegance, finesse and complexity. The red wines as well as the white wines meet very high standards, which delights wine lovers worldwide. The winemakers attach special importance to a constantly high quality, which is why every vintage from the Eagles' Nest winery can be recommended.
Eagles' Nest Terroir
The terroir from Eagles' Nest is especially suitable for the grape varieties Shiraz, Merlot and Viognier. The cultivation areas are on some of the steepest slopes in South Africa. This is how the winemakers can use the sunshine hours optimally for their Eagles' Nest wine.
The winery is located in an isolated valley at the Constantia Mountain. As early as 1836, wine farmers planted the first vines here. The long tradition was threatened to end abruptly when a fire occurred. Since 2001, though, Eagles' Nest shines in new splendour and is about to repeat the past success.
Eagles' Nest Philosophy
The Eagles' Nest philosophy starts at the wine slope. The winemakers carefully select which vines to cultivate and which grape varieties they will use. The vine management to the tiniest detail is testament of the deep love for wine. Every vine is harvested individually, at the time when it reached the optimal overall degree of ripening. This is how only well ripened grapes are used in the wine cellar of Eagles' Nest because the winery sets high standards to itself to produce the best South African wine possible.
