The Spier 21 Gables Pinotage is a little jewel that sparkles in a dark ruby red. Johann Joordan, cellar master at Spier, particularly appreciates the versatility of the red wine, which is already noticeable in the bouquet: The scent of violets and sweet ripe blackberries and cherries pampers the senses and is surrounded by spicy undertones. On the palate, the full-bodied Spier 21 Gables Pinotage impresses with notes of ripe berries and velvety tannins that culminate in an opulent finish. The well-structured wine matured for twenty months in a combination of French, American and Hungarian oak and will continue to make the hearts of red wine fans beat faster in a few years. Of course, the Spier 21 Gables Pinotage is already a great pleasure, for example with lamb or venison fillet. But aromatic vegetarian dishes such as a vegetable casserole with aubergines and cheese are also a treat with this red wine with a strong character.

Spier Wine from Stellenbosch
The Spier winery is located in the 'wine heart' of South Africa: Stellenbosch. The excellent soils and good rainfall during the winter months, paired with the expertise and knowledge of the winemakers, make for a constant high quality. Being approximately 25 kilometres away from Cape Town, Spier is also a popular travel destination.
Spier Wine with a Long Tradition
Spier can look back on a long and successful history. Proudly, the winemakers maintain the proven traditions in wine cultivation yet always look ahead in the future and develop innovative ideas for growing and developing red as well as white wine. The first grapes had been pressed here in 1712, and since 1767 Spier is a registered vineyard. Nowadays, the yard plays a key role in South Africa's success on the wine market, not least due to the high quality standards that are achieved here.
Amongst others, Spier offers the Signature Range which excites with its easily salubrious and fruity wine. Two premium collections, 21 Gables and Creative Block, are aimed at the wine lover. Both collections have an excellent quality in common, which has been awarded numerous times.
